WNYCOSH has received a Susan Harwood Training Grant to provide trainings in fire safety, bloodborne pathogens, slips, trips, and falls, and lock out tag out.
Congressman Tim Kennedy announced the award, saying “Communication is a critical component of providing a safe work environment. Ensuring employees return home safely to their families each day is a collective responsibility.”
The project will target harder-to-reach workers, and offer training in English, Arabic, Burmese, Karen, and Spanish. The grant is provided through the U.S. Department of Labor’s Susan Harwood Training Grant Program, which supports programs intended to inform and prevent occupational health and safety hazards. WNYCOSH is among 102 non-profit organizations nationwide receiving a combined $12.7 million through the program.
